Moon of my Life

One year
Since you left me.
Since you threw off your lunar veil,
Cast out the children;
Scatter the bodies like grey diamonds
Across darkened valleys and
Misted mountains.
Forgive me my plated sins
Then vanish beneath the dawning bay,
Leaving calm ripples in such wakes
On the surface of a soulless sea.

I loved you.
You kept my silent sorrow and
Nettled touch cloaked in shadow
From wolves howl and widow's wail,
Morning dew and frosted hail.
Her light given back by all
It gave to;
Those shown their lost pathway
Out of bitter cold to brighter day.

Have the sun never raise its
Fiery mane to soft skin
Till the end of ash seasons.
Let the jasmine forever swoon,
The bluebell stand in eternal bloom,
And the Moon's burned man linger
A little longer,
Sleep never to meet him there.

Do not leave, light of my life.
Do not call age to harvest what remains
Of naïve mind and sunken heart.
Dip your delicate toes and golden hair
Back in astral baths.
Leave me in shadows.
I love the Moon. From that night till my last.
As pink ribbon cuts across fading skies
I wonder.
