A Soul Folded

The Final Curtain

The show must go on. Yet it is over.
A velvet blade cuts the social rapport
Leaving one in the dark, among props,
Disguises, written dreams; an actor war.
Stubs of heart and soul turn to ash
And blow away in the cold. It is over.

Everybody wants a piece of the action,
Alas worn chairs and the amateurs hopes lack
The light and air of that up-market West end scene,
The comfort and sights of satisfaction.
Stone emotions and the rising demon of impatience
Proved too much for this special little stage.

Some of the greatest stories re-told
Through the limited scope of seaside spirit,
Capturing original tears and laughs of local children;
Memories imprisoned behind sealed doors.
A house ridden by a plague
Of alienated members and sparkles shows.

Now, each brick, each dusty corner
Echoes encompassing performances;
A master of forms, flying daggers,
The Ring of Fire, a timeless classic
Embedded in the forgotten magic
Of the Pavilion.

Some tides are so loud, some shells so hollow,
That one walks down the beach out of place.
One cannot stop the hurt inside, without layers of aid
Fade, when fiery persona collides with structured rehearse.
It held the hand when conveyed through this soul,
Now it's slipped away. I will never see that face again.
