The Professor

Taking centre stage.
Smoke floating around you and the kit,
Like a chemical reaction when both meet.
What you see is one part of a larger system.
Surrounded by barrels, precious cargo
Each containing their own unique sound.

Don't use your hands like an ape would a bongo,
Stick it out and produce a rhythm method.
Beats of double-bass, bumping in the night,
Causing concussion with this percussion.
Nestled in the centre, solo, a 360 degree musical arsenal,
A one man army with different shots of hi-hats and snares.

Moog plays along with the foundation.
Wind chimes sound like a waterfall of glass -
Splash symbol, then crash symbol.
Raging throughout my secluded Bron-yr-aur
Like a shooting star that is bad company
For the jealous guitar.

You tire of the typical drum kit.
Add: timpales, timpani, temple blocks, triangle,
All under threat of your strike.
Complicate to progress, and progress to dominate.
Sitting under the bell tree, growing familiar,
Hitting orchestra and tubular bells, with the occasional
Pastoral beat of the cowbell.

Ringing out at a deafening audience for so long:
'Acoustic must be cast aside' the guitar says,
'Dump your barrels into the sea' says the synth.
Now I tap black, unfamiliar disks
But the sound is a new phenomena!
Eureka! I've found the better drummer inside.

Every new victim of the sticks can be sampled
In a gilded cage, a prison of sound.
I can play like the Moon's Bonham,
A drum roll please. Begin!
All the world is a stage.

The media is PermaJet's Ultra Pearl. PermaJet state the paper is 295gsm, has a super ultra pearl finish, a high water resistance together with being scratch resistant and anti-scruff properties.
